The old Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) site has been recently converted into the Adelaide Botanic High School opening in 2019 which is fantastic news,
With the opening of an additional inner-city public school, this year alone, an additional 350 students from year 8 and 9 were enrolled and commenced their high school journey taking pressure off Adelaide High School located toward the West of Adelaide on West Tce.
As part of the inclusion of the additional Botanic High School campus, we saw an expansion in the previous tight and ultra-competitive zoning.
As a result of the competitive nature of the Adelaide High School Zone, we found the flow on effect due to the increased size in the zone helped to appreciate the homes and demand for homes that now fell within it.
No less than the zone having been increased the South Australian Government is reducing its size which will have an effect on the following suburbs;
- Torrensville
- Mile End
- Hilton
- Richmond
- Marleston
- Kurralta Park
- Glandore
- Black Forest
- Clarence Park
Properties that fall within the Underdale High School Zone include Torrensville, Mile End & Hilton whilst Richmond, Marleston, Kurralta Park and Glandore will head to Plympton International College and their neighbours Black Forest & Clarence Park to Springbank College.
This being said, based on the Shared CBD High School Zone map below, the zone cuts off along South Rd where it originally stood which means that parts of Mile End to are still included in both High Schools with the re-zoning due to take place in 2020,
